The Beachouse

The Beachouse (often capitalised as BeacHouse) is an amusement arcade located in the seaside resort of Glenelg in Adelaide, South Australia. It was built and designed by land owners the Rimington Group as a replacement to the former Magic Mountain, which was demolished in 2004. The complex opened in July 2006 as part of the final stage of the Holdfast Shores redevelopment.

On 18 September 2008, The Beachouse owners, the Rimington Group went in to receivership with debts of $16 million.

On 1 October 2008, The Beachouse was given a lifeline when The Taplin Group bought the freehold title to the site, the Taplin Group will lease the business back to its previous owners, the Rimington Group with a 40 year lease.

Attractions

The Beachouse has the following attractions:

'Fun Cards'

The Beachouse uses Sacoa Playcard to manage payment,[3] with cards referred to as 'Fun Cards'. If more than 300 credits are used on one Fun Card over any amount of time its owner receives a VIP Card entitling them to 10% off games and rides[4].
